Welcome to the Blog!
A Bit About Me
I'm a Swedish metaphysical blogger, Tarot reader/teacher, healer and rune caster. In 2002, I moved to the United Kingdom, and this is where I started my metaphysical training in earnest. Among other qualifications, I have trained with the Healing Trust (then NSFH). In addition to spiritual healing, I have picked up several other energy healing modalities along the way, including Reiki, Bach Flower Remedies, EFT and Angel Healing.
My main metaphysical blog is Angelorum. You should check it out if you're into Tarot, since it has tons of FREE Tarot resources. I have been a speaker at the UK Tarot Conference, and my work with the Tarot has been featured in a few different publications, including Take a Break's Fate & Fortune Magazine.
The Start of a New Journey
On Samhain in 2021, I started a new journey. Or perhaps, it's better to say that I restarted a journey into the history of my Norse and Saami ancestry that I began in 2019--one that was rudely interrupted by everything that 2020 brought. This time, I have weathered a major storm, survived (another) Dark Night of the Soul, and have been sufficiently humbled to start moving forward once more. The purpose of this blog is really simple: It's to allow my ancestral roots to nurture me and perhaps anybody else who passes by. Like trees, we are all connected through a complex root system. And no matter how the elites try to poison us, we keep growing stronger... together.
Tree magick, I have been reliably informed by Spirit, will form an important part of what I explore on this blog. This is a fun plot twist for me since I have always had a strong connection with trees. My second ballet that I sadly never completed choreographing at age 14, was called The Dryads (tree spirits).
As stated above, this blog is intended to be a healing sanctuary online. This includes not just tree magick but also rune magick, galdr, seidr, energy healing, essences, and drumming. Drumming is a healing modality in its own right. If you don't believe me, pick up a drum and let it teach you!
Free to Explore
At this point (November 2021), the Norse Pagan journey I began on Samhain is a time-limited journey. I'm giving myself 12 months to explore and dive deep into Norse Paganism, the Eddas, the Sagas, the Northern Tradition, seidr and other Norse shamanic practices, connecting with the gods of my ancestors and working with the runes.
I also hope to come up with new, innovative ways of doing this work. Metaphysical work is ever-evolving! If this journey takes me where I'm hoping it will take me, I may stay on this path of ancestral magick. However, I'm not taking any vows beyond these 12 months.
It's important to know that not all that glimmers is gold, and that we are always free to change our minds to take a new direction once we find better ways of working and navigating. People who are stuck in one particular thought paradigm are often quick to criticise those of us who like to maintain the freedom to explore. That's okay because it's more a reflection of their rigidity than anything else.
Wisdom Transcends All Paths
Also, I'm not prepared to forfeit other sources of wisdom. I'm not ever going to be exclusively this or that. Wisdom is wisdom, and it transcends all paths. (<--- read that again) This is important to me since I used to be on a Christian path that forbade non-Christian input, and that viewed all Pagan deities as demons (they're not!).
Essentially, the reason I have chosen to tread a Pagan path for 12 months is that this is where I find the most freedom. Syncretism has always been seen as normal among Pagans. Dogma is the product of elitist control. I think, especially after 2020, we've all had enough of that!
Othala, Nauthiz, Kenaz
When I pulled three runes for what Spirit wants me to know about this blog, I got Othala, Nauthiz, and Kenaz. Othala is about heritage and legacy, which is very much a theme for this blog. Nauthiz is for the need to find new and better ways of bringing this legacy forward. Finally, Kenaz is for sharing the light of knowledge (teaching and learning together) through this blog. I couldn't be happier with this oracle!
Love,
Lisa
